Eco-groups take Conservatives to court over assessment waivers

OTTAWA — The potential number of stimulus projects the federal government is exempting from environmental assessment has skyrocketed from 2,000 to as many as 12,000, according to environmental groups who are challenging the government's policy in the courts.
