High School Student Discovers Microorganism That Eats Plastic

Mother Nature Network reports that a high school student discovered a microorganism that can eat plastic. Plastic takes about 1,000 years to decompose and Daniel Burd, a high school student at Waterloo Collegiate Institute, felt there must microorganisms out there that help the plastic decompose.
